比亞迪泰國工廠竣工，並達成第800輛新能源車的生產目標

電動車大廠 BYD 於7月初為座落於泰國羅勇府的工廠舉辦竣工儀式，落成後亦是該公司位於東南亞地區首座電動汽車生產基地，除此之外，BYD 之全球第800萬輛新能源車亦來自於新落成的泰國廠，相當具有指標性意義。
就東南亞區域而言，泰國為汽車生產大國且於認知上主要以日本品牌扮演主導性地位（如圖所示）。BYD新廠落成雖然僅是中國大陸汽車產業進軍泰國的開端，但依照年產能15萬輛規模之規劃並以2023整體泰國汽車產量184萬輛來計算，在產能滿載且不再額外擴廠的情境假設下，即可取得約8%的市場份額。
不過依照BYD 2023於泰國銷售3萬輛來計算，在全數改由當地生產的情況下，初期市場份額應落在1.5至2%之間，但這不包含於泰國生產後，出口至其它東南亞國家。就趨勢而言，泰國於2024已啟動為期四年的EV3.5計畫，藉由降低消費稅的方式擴大鼓勵在地生產之新能源車，此政策相當有利於本來就於新能源車取得領導性地位之BYD加速擴展於當地之生產份額。
就產能規模而言，BYD雖不致於會立即顛覆現有日本品牌所建立的生態體系，但因該公司具有快速擴張的條件與潛力，換言之對於供應鏈廠商而言，不可輕忽未來幾年於泰國甚至東南亞即將發生競爭態勢的改變。
