According to foreign media reports by Macrumors, the supply of 27-inch iMac by Apple has continued to decrease. The US official website indicated that current shipments of mid-to-high-end inventory products are estimated to be postponed to September, and the delivery date to the mainland market will take about a month. It has been assumed that the reason may be that the new model of iMac is about to be launched so that Apple persists to reduce the inventory of previous models. Since the unit price of new products is higher, it is likely to significantly pump up the performance of supply chain manufacturers, Quanta, and the primary OEM plant for iMac should benefit the most from this.

As pointed out by foreign news releases, the supply of 27-inch iMacs has been rather tight, the delivery time has been delayed for several months, and there has been no improvement in the situation until recently. It has been surprising that after users have purchased 27-inch iMacs that they have to wait nearly two months before receiving the products. The reasons for hard-pressed supply could be; the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the fact that the new iMac is about to be marketed so there will be reduction in inventory.

However, a new device found to be similar to iMac was spotted in the Geekbench benchmark database as disclosed from the latest news. The new device model of this iMac is "AAPJ1851,1", using the tenth-generation Core processor from Intel, and the model is i9-10910. The model is equipped with AMD Radeon Pro 5300 graphics card, which has left many users in anticipation of its improved graphic performance.

As estimated by analysts, the new iMac with Intel processors will be launched in the third quarter of the year, possibly at the end of September. There will also be a new product, a 23-inch screen iMac. Usually, the unit price of the new device is relatively higher, which should pump in a greater contribution to the revenue of OEM plants. On one hand, Quanta is the main OEM plant for Apple's computer products, and chairman Barry Lam has also indicated for sometime before that orders for the third quarter are still very strong. He maintains a rather positive view towards the prospect of the fourth quarter.

Barry Lam once noted in the first quarter that he was quite worried about the operating conditions for the third quarter; nonetheless, the performance of orders in the third quarter remains to be most strong based on customer needs. The demands for laptops and iCloud are faring quite favorable, for the growth of work-at-home, study, entertainment, and games have suddenly increased. As such, customers need laptops as their computing device, so that it is considered to be a great chance for booming performance.

Quanta also maintains a rather positive view towards the performance of the fourth quarter, for many people would change their old laptops for new ones, which is a great chance for a rebound towards the outstanding prospect.

Barry Lam emphasized that the rise of the otaku economy has brought many applications back to laptops and iCloud. As such, he trusts the economy will be quite optimistic and positive for the next year. There will be more young people who will need laptops. (News source: Economic Daily News)
