菲律賓Globe東南亞首推5G商用方案

菲律賓電信商Globe宣布推出家用Air Fiber 5G，是全東南亞第一家提供5G商用方案的業者，也是繼南韓，日本之後全亞洲第三推出的國家.Globe在第二季只剩不到10天時壓線發表了方案，達成去年宣示要在2019第二季推出的承諾。
值得注意的是，At Home Air Fiber 5G並非直接向消費者提供行動網絡方案，而是用5G取代實體線路，在光纖固網服務到住家的最後一哩採用5G無線訊號連接。
根據地球執行長，這樣便不用沿路徵求線路鋪設的許可，省去可能長達2 - 3年冗長的申請流程而5G的高帶寬，高網速特性，理論上可以不用線路就達到類似光纖的使用體驗。
Home Air 5G方案預計可提供最高100Mbps的速度，將在2019年7月開放給所有符合資格的使用者.Globe表示在導入5G技術之前，這種無線與固網混合的方案，在2019的前3個月與2016年相比，為他們帶來了55.1％的用戶成長，總用戶數來到170萬。而環球在2020年目標為提供200萬家戶聯機。
Globe的家用空氣纖維5G採用華為5G CPE家用路由器，內建華為Balong 5000芯片，也是第一個可以在4G與5G切換的芯片組。（新聞來源：INSIDE）
