【財訊快報／記者李純君報導】NVIDIA布局汽車電子告捷，獲得Volvo集團採用。Volvo集團計畫將採用NVIDIA技術的解決方案用於整個自動化領域，從駕駛人支援系統到全自動化駕駛車的車輛和機器。
Volvo集團週二在瑞典哥德堡總部宣布將使用NVIDIA DRIVE端到端自動駕駛平台，來訓練、測試與導入自動駕駛人工智慧車輛，目標鎖定大眾交通、貨運、廢棄物與回收、營造建築、採礦、林業等產業。
此外，雙方將在哥德堡及矽谷共同成立工程團隊，利用DRIVE AGX Pegasus平台來開發車載人工智慧運算能力，以及利用完整的DRIVE AV軟體堆疊來開發360度感測器處理、感知、地圖本地化和路徑規劃等功能；另外還將使用NVIDIA DRIVE硬體迴路(hardware-in-the-loop)模擬平台測試和驗證這些系統。
Volvo集團也提到，會將自動駕駛車輛技術用於遍布全球的卡車產品，尤其自動駕駛卡車可以滿足消費者對於隔夜或當天便能送達商品的期望。目前全球每天的包裹遞送量超過3,500萬件，年增率為28%。安侯建業(KPMG)顧問公司指出，到2040年時，遞送服務的距離每年還要再增加780億英里，以處理網購商品。(新聞來源:Yahoo奇摩新聞)
