The commercialization of SpaceX satellite communication project -- Starlink -- will be launched, while the institute investors have pointed out that PCB supplier, Compeq, and EMC that provides copper foil substrate (CCL) PCB needs will be benefited from, the trend..

SpaceX is the space business owned by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla. As confirmed, the Starlink project mainly focuses on a satellite reception station on the ground for space applications, as well as relevant signal transmission. Therefore, its primary requirement is high-end Netcom PCB board, which would help trigger demands for peripheral materials. However, suppliers named by the market that can provide materials supply won't comment on any single customer information, and Compeq stresses that it will not rely on the growth of one single customer.

Compeq and TTM are those PCB suppliers named by the market as they would provide what Starlink project needs, and it would stimulate the demands for peripheral CCL materials. Besides, CCL materials required by Compeq are not merely supplied by just one manufacturer. Having made considerable efforts on the layout of the Netcom board in recent years, Compeq reiterated yesterday that it has no change regarding the prospect for operation this year. Since relevant layout applications are conducted on a long-term basis, benefits are expected to show up in 2020 if applications have any forward-looking approach.

EMC will not, as well, comment on information regarding any one single customer, and it would only indicate that it mainly supplies first-line PCB manufacturers. As for fields of customer terminal applications, it is beyond the scope for the company to speculate.

Looking forward to the future, EMC has said that the company will, as a whole, head towards the goal of completely independent production and sales for the season as the amount of work returns to normal in the second quarter, and thus the working days on mainland China also return to normal.
