台積電砸新台幣7,500億 強攻5奈米

台積電總裁暨副董事長魏哲家近日於年度技術論壇表示，台積電7奈米已大量生產，5奈米將投入250億美元（逾新台幣7,500億元），預計明年底或後年初大量生產，看好行動裝置、高速運算、汽車及物聯網等四大領域平台推動半導體產值成長，對產業未來充滿信心。
魏哲家表示，半導體是一個非常基本的行業，如同米飯和麵包，都是人類生活必需品。他對未來充滿信心，尤其這幾年人工智能（AI）技術有了長足進步，開始進入大眾的生活。 5G和AI的進展，將驅動手機、高速運算、汽車與物聯網四大應用，進而帶動半導體業的成長；其中，手機會是人類不可或缺的東西，而高速運算則是往後一切事務的基礎。
在先進製程方面，台積電也宣布7奈米已大量生產。台積電技術長孫元成指出，7奈今年底將有超過50個產品完成設計定案（Tape out），這些芯片主要應用在人工智能、繪圖處理器與虛擬貨幣應用。此外，今年下半年將有增強版7奈米芯片Tape out，第3季進行風險性試產，明年放量；明年也會將EUV導入增強版7奈米製程；而5奈米則於2019年上半年風險性試產，以高速運算應用為主。 (新聞來源：經濟日報)
