亞洲矽谷計劃成果亮眼 思科創新中心 落腳桃園

蔡英文總統近日率隊視察桃園的亞洲矽谷計劃執行中心，宣布美國網通大廠思科，將在下半年進駐桃園啟動創新中心，與台灣200傢伙伴合作，形塑台灣更強大的物聯網生態系。蔡英文說，今年物聯網產業可望突破新台幣1兆元。
為推動5+2產業創新，蔡英文昨日進行第二波產業視察，赴桃園亞矽執行中心，聽取物聯網發展簡報，並與相關業者交流。
據悉，思科將持續對台投資，未來進駐桃園會和當地企業及台灣200傢伙伴，開發物聯網創新應用解決方案及服務，切入智能城市、信息安全、智能醫療和智慧教育等領域，形塑一個合作生態鏈。知情人士說，思科每年在台採購金額達數十億美元，日前聯發科也搶到思科大單，會加強與台灣緊密合作。初期暫時進駐據點可能鄰近亞矽中心，長期將落腳在桃園捷運A19站新創基地。
先前已有微軟在台灣成立物聯網創新中心和AI研發中心，近期Google也啟動智慧台灣計劃，將聘用300名員工，長期培育5,000名AI人才，台灣已成為Google在亞洲最大的研發基地。另亞馬遜、IBM也陸續擴大在台研發中心規模。
蔡英文總統表示，物聯網已經成為台灣當下正在蓬勃發展的產業，在亞洲‧矽谷計劃推動下，去年台灣物聯網產值超過新台幣9,000億，年成長率19％，如果按照這個速度發展，今年物聯網產業可望突破1兆元。 (新聞來源: 工商時報)
