Tripod, Chin Poon Looking Bright and Ready for Season Output

Date: 2018-03-02

News Type:

Steady car PCB demands are bringing a positive Q1 outlook to Tripod and Chin Poon, possibly outrunning the same period last year. Both manufacturers plan to either enhance output or expand productivity in response to growing orders.

China’s restrictions on wastewater discharge have kicked out small- and medium-sized PCB makers. From a manufacturer’s perspective, large PCB companies have begun to see the benefits of scale operations, especially the rising demands for local auto electronic parts, which have not slowed since the Chinese New Year (CNY) holidays have begun. The new output of Tripod’s Xiantao plant in Hubei is online with manpower and equipment that will contribute to Q2 revenue and support local customers’ orders.

CNY preparation has sent Tripod an early red envelope with the best revenue of a single month, NTD$4.36 billion revenue in January, which represents 6.2% monthly growth and 31.4% annual growth.

Continuous orders from China before CNY also contributed Chin Poon’s historical turnover of NTD$2.08 billion in January, which represents 21.8% monthly growth and more than 11% annual growth, a historic high for that month.

Both auto PCB makers expect Q1 to exceed the same period of last year based on the rising needs of the auto electronic market and increasing work days compared to prior years. Chin Poon is also scheduling additional productivity in China in response to Changshou’s local market needs. The Changshou plant has the area prepared at any time for additional output.
