據報告稱，預計上網本將在2015年完全退出市場。2010年上網本全球銷量為3210萬台，當時使用者被這種新型產品吸引的原因是其便攜性相對較高，且價格在入門級水準。從價格、便攜性和功能來看，那時上網本還是很不錯的選擇。但在蘋果於2010年4月3日發佈iPad以後，情況就發生了變化。雖然蘋果並非平板電腦這種產品類別的發明者，但iPad的人氣度已在實際上消滅了上網本的市場需求。（來源：新浪科技）
