韓電信業衝5G 要砸93億美元

韓聯社1月1日引述產業消息人士報導，今年南韓的行動電信商可能在第五代網絡技術（5G）投資逾10兆韓元（93.6億美元），為高端服務奠定穩固基礎。南韓政府也已宣布將在6月標售5G頻譜。
消息人士說，南韓科學與信息科技未來規畫部（MSIP）將攜手SK電信、KT公司與LG Uplus等三家行動電信商，打算在2019年開始商業營運5G網絡，並在2020年前建置全國基礎設施。
南韓政府預期，5G網絡將在2019年3月商業化，並於2022年之前在全國各地完成部署。科學與信息科技未來規畫部日前並宣布，3.5GHz和 28GHz頻譜將在今年6月標售，比先前宣布的日期提早一年。 SK等三大行動電信公司可能在標售會後加速佈建。
SK電信等公司將在未來三或四年進行投資，以使數據處理比現行的4G網絡更快速且更穩定。此外，南韓已打造出全球第一座以5G行動電信網絡為基礎的自駕車測試場。 SK電信與韓國交通安全公團（KTSA）上月28日宣布，已在自駕試驗城K-City的主要實驗區建置5G基礎設施。 (新聞來源: 聯合新聞網)
