格羅方德宣佈 7 奈米製程 2018 年初推出 並於當年年底量產
全球第二大晶圓代工廠商 GLOBALFOUNDRIES（格羅方德半導體）於 14 日宣佈，將推出其具有 7 奈米製程領先性能（7LP，7nm Leading-Performance）的 FinFET 製程技術，其 40% 的跨越式性能提升將滿足諸如高階移動處理器、雲端伺服器網路基礎設備等應用需求。設計軟體已就緒，使用 7LP 技術的第一批產品預計於 2018 年上半年推出，並將於 2018 年下半年進行量產。
格羅方德指出，未來將不斷投資下一代技術節點的研究與開發。通過與合作夥伴 IBM 和三星的密切合作，2015 年時格羅方德就已經宣佈推出 7 奈米測試晶片，又於近日宣佈業界首款使用奈米矽片電晶體的 5 奈米的樣片。目前，格羅方德正在探索一系列新的電晶體架構，以説明其客戶邁進下一個互聯的智慧時代。
為了加快 7LP 的量產進度，格羅方德正在持續投資最新的研發設備能力，包括在 2017 年下半年首次購入兩組極端紫外線（EUV）光刻工具。不過，7LP 的初始量產的性能提升將依賴傳統的光刻方式，而當具備大量生產條件之際，將逐步使用 EUV 光刻技術。(新聞來源:科技新報)
