The latest JPCA statistics show the production of PCB(including rigid PCB, flexible PCB, module substrates) in Japan in March, 2017 rises by 7.5% compared to the same time last year to 1.25 million square meters, which marks 5-month consecutive growth. The production value rise by 1.9% to 40.196 billion Japanese yen, which is the first-time growth in the past 16 months.

In terms of the production categories, the March production of rigid PCB in Japan r 7.2% to 874 thousand square meters compared to the same time last year, which is the 8th month of consecutive growth. The production value rises by 2.5% to 26.774 Japanese yen, marking the 5th month of consecutive growth. The PCB grows by 28.9% to 4.521 billion Japanese yen, which pertains to 4-month consecutive growth. As for module substrates, the production value rises by 18.8% to 63 thousand square meters, which is due to growth for 5 months in a row. However, its production value shrinks by 9.5% to 8.901 billion Japanese yen, contributing to the 12th month of downturn in a row. In all, the Q1 PCB production in Japan in 2017 grows by 8.7% compared to the same period last year to 3.636 million square meters, while the total production value descends by 2.1% to 113.638 billion Japanese yen.

The output of rigid PCB rises by 7.3% to 2.533 million square meters, its value by 1.2% to 74.797 billion Japanese yen. The output of flexible PCB rises 11.5% to 926 thousand square meters, its value by 11.6% to 14.175 billion Japanese yen. On the other hand, the output of module substrates rises by 13.4% to 176 thousand square meters, while its value drops by 16.4% to 24.666 billion Japanese yen.
