台積強攻AI 衝刺7奈米

隨著智慧手機市場日趨飽和，晶圓代工龍頭台積電改攻新興科技，全力開發AI晶片與高效能運算晶片，緊跟市場趨勢。台積電表示，未來AI需要的制程相當先進，將切入7奈米為主要制程，預估到2020年，將占其近25%營收。
台積電共同執行長劉德音4月在法說會上表示，台積電預期2020年起高性能運算晶片將成為成長引擎之一，2020年至2025年市場對高效能運算晶片的需求會真正升溫。在30家預定台積電先進7奈米晶片的客戶中，有一半客戶打算在高效能運算相關應用中採用這種晶片。台積電計畫在明年開始生產全球第一個7奈米晶片。外界預期蘋果十周年版iPhone將採用台積電10奈米晶片。台積電已經開始為高效能運算產業生產資料中心晶片，資料中心具備高效能運算能力，是發展AI、自駕車等下一代科技的基礎設施之一。
雖然台積電全力發展尖端技術，但智慧手機市場短期仍是台積電一大營收來源，蘋果、高通、聯發科及華為旗下晶片部門海思半導體，都將採用台積電即將到來的7奈米晶片，輝達則是台積電高效能運算業務的指標性客戶。半導體業者表示，透過HPC處理器及高效能繪圖晶片打造的AI運算生態系統，是各大半導體佈局重點，佈局廠商包括輝達、超微、高通、英特爾等，前三者未來都將借重台積電先進制程。(新聞來源:日經新聞、經濟日報)
