Since accepting applications for inclusion in the 4^th list of pillar enterprises from January 2016, the MOEA announced today (Apr. 19) the 4^th list of enterprises selected as pillar enterprises, with a total of 78 enterprises nominated and 15 given the excellent pillar enterprise award, including GWINSTEK, Actron, CUB Electroparts Inc., Career, and Systex. Three companies, including Shayye, Juyang, and Deda, were also selected as pillar enterprises that have created friendly workplaces; the awarded enterprises will most likely be recognized in public in May.

On March 20^th, Li Shi Guang, minister of the MOEA, invited representatives from such industrial groups as the National Industrial Commission, National Commercial Commission, General Commission of SMB, and other relevant ministries, including the National Development Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor, and the Ministry of Technology, to attend the 4^th meeting of the “Pillar Enterprises Development Promotion Panel” of the MOEA, where the results from the promotion and the effectiveness of the plan of pillar enterprises were reviewed, and a resolution on the 4^th list of excellent pillar enterprises and those good enterprises creating friendly workplaces was passed through discussion. The number of enterprises awarded as excellent pillar enterprises increased from 12 in the previous list to 15 in this one, and all the industrial representatives from the National Industrial Commission and National Commercial Commission agreed that the policy of awarding pillar enterprises has been helpful in driving overall industrial development and that the practice of encouraging enterprises to create friendly workplaces should be acclaimed.
To accelerate the development of pillar enterprises, the “Team Serving Pillar Enterprises ” established by the MOEA in 2013 has been providing customized assistance to a total of 186 pillar enterprises nominated in the 1^st through the 3^rd lists in connection with issues related to the thorough utilization of their technologies, operations, and development. This team has also formulated a total of 42 advantageous measures based on the concrete needs of industrial operators through the coordinated application of the resources of government organs with regard to talent, technologies, IPRs, brand marketing, and others to accelerate growth and development. Relevant statistics have shown that as of the end of 2016, relevant investments of NTD 176.4 billion Yuan have been made, creating 20,668 jobs.

 

 According to the direction of “innovation, employment, and allocation” proposed by President Tsai in policy-making  and the policy of 5+N innovation formulated by the Executive Yuan, the MOEA will assist those nominated as pillar enterprises in their development towards 5+N policies and continue to select more operators in sectors related to 5+N innovation as pillar enterprises for the purpose of creating momentum for the growth of domestic sectors and driving domestic investments, as well as creating good jobs.
