美光擴大在台投資 佈局DRAM先進製程
美國記憶體大廠Micron合併華亞科技後，臺灣成為其 DRAM 生產基地，內部設定以超越三星為目標，並全力衝刺 DRAM 和 3D NAND Flash 先進製程腳步，去年及今年總計投資 20 億美元，將台中廠（原瑞晶）的製程提升至1x奈米，並逐步提升良率，預計今年下半年就可交貨給客戶。另外，集團今年也將在臺灣擴大招募1,000名員工，要在先進製程技術上加快佈局進度以趕上三星。
Micron桃園廠過去仍屬華亞科的時代，就已經投入10億美元資金提升製程，現在主力製程以20奈米為主，月產能約9～10萬片之間。另外，台中廠目前主流製程以25奈米為主，去年投資10億美元轉換製程，今年第一季開始直接轉進1x奈米世代，並開始展開數千片的投片，預期今年要再投入10億美元擴大產能。也就是說，Micron桃園廠及台中廠近年來投資已逾30億美元。(新聞來源:MoneyDJ、工商時報)
