UTAC-Taiwan, a manufacturer of optical visual technology with circuit boards, has launched an "integrated automation solution for final back-end inspection" in order to help high-end circuit board clients with marking and splitting applications after final inspection. The solution will work in conjunction with AGV unmanned van to move products to the next stop, thus enhancing categorization quality and shipment efficiency. The solution can effectively lower the unstable labeling of products and timing loss rendered by conventional marking operations.

UTAC-Taiwan is the No. 1 manufacturer of equipment for final inspection of outlook in terms of market share. In addition to constantly enhancing hardware and software for checking outlook, it can appreciate clients' needs of final back-end inspection until shipment. At the present stage, many circuit board products, such as FPCB, RF board, HDI board, SLP, and multi-rows board, would have to be shipped. However, since the previous manufacturing process will result in part of the PCs being reported as unserviceable, they have to be especially marked and classified, but conventional manual marking optical points may easily and mistakenly cross PCs and result in unnecessary waste. Therefore, UTAC has made use of optical application by reading circuit board defects along with barcode information or by discerning manual marking patterns through jet printing or laser technology to precisely mark faulty PCs. From the perspective of jet printing, it only takes 7 seconds to furnish an unlimited number of PCs marking a 135 mm-size circuit board. Furthermore, the technology can also be based on a customer's need to design paper-partitioned or double-sided marking structures to accommodate a customer's different circuit board.

The time of using machines had passed, but the advantage of UTAC is that it possesses a plethora of experiences in optical technology and integrated equipment, which was key in realizing the device chain of circuit board automation. Through integrated automation solution outlook back-end inspection, an entire plant with unmanned transportation can be established by AGA automation guided application. It is hoped that such application can create higher efficiency and more valuable technical services for circuit board customers, moving towards 4.0 target of circuit board productivity.
