C-TEX East China PCB/SMT Exhibition 2017 kicks off today on the 17th and will last for 3 days at Suzhou International Expo. Mr. Wilson Yang, director of TPCA, said today in his opening remark that this year’s event will not only feature panels on Chinese electronics and circuit boards but also forums on green manufacturing and manufacturing safety and PCB academic-industry cooperation, with a focus on new opportunities and prospects of circuit upgrade. Visitors will benefit from 8 major theme forums and topics addressed by 36 domestic and international prominent leaders in the fields.

The opening remark centers upon the topic of “Opportunities in the face of 5G.” The first speaker, Mr. Hong-Tao Chen, senior engineer from Atotech, who will share his insights on 5G and that China will finish its second phase testing for 5G by the end of 2017 and launch R & D trials on wireless port and internet technology for 3 major 5G characteristics: mobile internet, low-hour & high-reliability, and low energy consumption.  He will also talk about introduction of chips and gages from domestically and abroad to contribute to the wellness of 5G in China, which will lead to output of US$984 billion by 2035.

The second lecturer, Mr. Shih-Yi Chen, Director General of Taiwan Institute for Information Industry, will bring a session of “Opportunities of 5G IoT Development and Application. He says the industrial network includes intelligent manufacturing, intelligent medical care, intelligent energy and intelligent traffic, which will contribute to an estimated production value of US$870 billion in 2020. He also stresses how 5G IoT can lead to innovative business models and generate new momentum in electronics industry through cross-sector cooperation.

Mr. Zhan-Meng Yen, Research Director of Counterpoint Technology Market Research, will then take the stand and address the trends of global intelligent computer terminals in 2017, touching upon dynamism of macroeconomics, smartphone development, IoT, smart cars, smart accessories, AI, intelligent homes.      There will be panels on PCB technology and market and PCB academic-industry exchange in the morning of May 18, followed by forums on high-frequency, high-speed materials, electro/chemical-plating craftsmanship, green manufacturing and production security. The third day of the event will feature a magnificent session with Mr. Bai disassembling an iPhone in front of everyone.

A successful event is contingent not only upon the depth and width of the topics explored but upon the sponsorship from businesses alike. In such grand event taking place in East China, particular tribute needs to be paid to Luster Light Tech Group, Joint Stars Technology Co., Suzhou Top Creation Machines Co., Dow Electronic Materials, Unimicron, Goalsearchers Co.
