Unitech, a supplier of printed circuit board, just prided themselves on their 30% increase of Q1 revenue compared to same period last year, thanks to the demand for automotive board and high-frequency board. The latter is principally used for ADAS. The Q1 revenue, however, was heavily influenced by currency exchange, making Unitech in the red. Q2 is generally a low season, but the supplier made some difference by gaining some improvement. In a broader picture, the company’s momentum this year stems from the demand by their American clients for old models in the second half and the automotive electronics market demand, resulting in the re-bounce of performance. The most attention this year is attracted to the combo boards and automotive boards.
The re-bounce from the first half and the second half in general has something to do with the increasing demand by their American clients, to whom the sales of new model is expected to rise. The expansion of battery models is another factor that contributes to the growth of Unitech’s combo boards. Automotive boards, on the other hand, is another shining star, mainly as a result of high-frequency boards’ application in ADAS and the demand for the automotive boards, e.g. rising market share of automobile camera sets.

In terms of expansion, Unitech concentrates on enlarging combo boards by elevating 20 to 30 per cent of capacity, which they expect to realize in Q3 and will become the driving force for fueling their second half of the year.
